Untold Talks
Soldier is not just a word , it is a proud feeling , not everyone can feel.
Today on this day every year we celebrate the Kargil Vijay Diwas only because of the sacrifices of those brave heart soldiers who died protecting us.
Its well said
A flag does not flies because winds moves it ,but it flies with the last breath of the soldier who die protecting it.
On this day, I will be presenting a story of the same soldier who died for us.
In a family, there was new born baby, he was a single son of his mother. He has two sisters. He was very interested in Indian army from childhood. It was the stories of freedom fighter of India like Chander Shekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh and Raja Guru by his grandfather who inspired him to join armed forces.
Initially his parents didn’t wanted him to join Indian armed forces. But seeing the dedication in him, they had to change their minds.
He was the Apple of his parents eyes. His uncles and aunties used to love him more then their only children. At his early age of 16 or 17 he joined Indian army under 18 grenadier unit. He was among the youngest soldiers of the nation.
When ever he come to home in his holidays ,his mother used to fed him with his hands and take him bath herself. She was quite possessive for him . After a month of his holidays when he was called back on duty ,he was sent to Drass . At that time ,the Kargil war was nearly at an end .
When mother came to know about it, she requested him to keep her in his mind .And come back. He answered , “No ,I am a soldier ,I had taken a pledge to sacrifice my life for my nation if needed. And here comes the times.”
After these lines his mother couldn’t say even a single word . Later on she started recording every single call of him with her, as she never knew which was his last call.
On 5 June 1999 ,the brave hearted soldier was no more. The family started having intuitions of his death, When they didn’t got any single call from him.
News of shaahadat of 5 soldiers on tiger hills broke them completely. After six days of his sacrifice, the family came to know about it, when soldiers brought the dead body to the house.
A 19 year old guy lost his life during the war ,plunged the whole world in gloom.
The loss of a son was not bearable for the family.
His mother is still having all those memories and valet with her in his memory. His room was converted to a temple now.
The soldier is no other than GDR Udhayman Singh of Shamma Chak also known as Tiger of hills.
A soldier never think for his life and family for once before fighting for the nation. He keeps the nation first. But what we do, we just remember him for a day or two. It is only the family of martyr who suffers.
“I will come hoisting the flag ,or wrapped in flag, but will definitely come.”
~ Words by a soldier.
My only motive for telling you this story is make you our duty.
Cannot we come up with a single hour or two foe the family of the martyrs and ask them weather they need and help or not.
We can take the place of the gone , but can try to make them realise we are their for them whenever they need something. To make them feel if they have lost one, they have also earned a family who is grateful to them for raising a hero who sacrificed his life to save the life of entire nation.
Only after this change in us, we have the right to say 26 July as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
Thank you for your support. If you like Or get some motivation. Please review by comment
